The organizing committee is pleased to welcome Dr. Guy Tchuente as this year's keynote speaker.
Guy Tchuente is an Assistant Professor of Quantitative Methods in Spatial Analysis in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, USA. He is also a Fellow of the Global Labor Organization (since August 2017) and of the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (UK) (since December 2018). His research spans econometrics (theory and applications), labour economics, health economics, and spatial methods for quantitative social science.
His work appears in leading academic outlets such as the Journal of Labor Economics, the Journal of Population Economics, the Econometrics Journal, the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, the Journal of Human Capital, Econometric Reviews, and the Journal of Econometrics. For example, one of his papers, “Learning the Right Skill: Vocational Curricula and Returns to Skills,” appears in the Journal of Labor Economics.
Before joining Purdue in Fall 2023, he held a faculty position at the University of Kent (Canterbury), and he earned his PhD from the Université de Montréal (Canada).

Guy Tchuente est professeur adjoint (« Assistant Professor ») en méthodes quantitatives et en analyse spatiale au sein du département d’économie agricole de l’Université Purdue, à West Lafayette, dans l’Indiana, aux États-Unis d’Amérique. Il est également chercheur associé (Fellow) auprès de la Global Labor Organization depuis août 2017 et du National Institute of Economic and Social Research (Royaume-Uni) depuis décembre 2018. Ses domaines de recherche comprennent l’économétrie (théorie et applications), l’économie du travail, l’économie de la santé ainsi que les méthodes spatiales appliquées aux sciences sociales quantitatives.
